SFA Publishes the Seasoned Mortgage Compliance

Scope of Review

On June 2, the Structured Finance Association (SFA) published the SFA Seasoned Mortgage Loan Scope of Review (the “Scope”). The Scope, developed by members of the ATR/QM Scope of Review Task Force, aims to standardize the method by which diligence firms review seasoned mortgage loan files with 36+ months of clean pay history. This standardization will benefit rating agencies, investors, and other secondary market securitization participants who rely on diligence findings. 

The SFA thanks the members of the Task Force, comprised of diligence firms, issuers and aggregators, rating agencies, data and analytic firms, and others, for their work in developing the Scope. The Scope can be found on the SFA’s website, along with background and FAQs developed by the Task Force.
